Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health
Located in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, the Kripalu Center is a non-profit organization and the largest yoga center in the country, dedicated to creating a more compassionate and conscious world, offering programs that bring the joy of yoga, meditation, holistic health and self-discovery into the lives of their students. Yoga is often thought of as only the physical disciplines of asana (postures) and pranayama (breathing). Although extremely valuable, these practices are part of a larger system or spiritual practice intended to purify, focus the mind and guide one to the highest stages of self-development.
The Foundation of Kripalu's approach
to personal transformation is to be fully present in the moment, just as it is. The goal of Kripalu Yoga is to develop a healthy and strong body, an open and caring heart, and a peaceful and clear mind. Kripalu yoga classes use a three-stage approach to facilitate the connection of the body, mind and spirit that guides you to move at your own pace and to honor and attune to the inner wisdom of the body. The dance of life force energy and deep compassionate observation cultivates the witness of our true nature. The Kripalu Yoga approach is not a formula to solve problems but a unique way to learn to be fully alive and to embrace the present moment.
